U Penn Interview

It's over! Finally! Between my interview getting rescheduled and everything else, I really worked myself up into quite a tizzy over this, to the point where I had to just run in place for about 10 minutes before calling my interviewer in order to settle down. Interestingly, while they started out at the beginning of this application process being my last-choice school, through the course of preparing for my (first) interview, I researched their program more in depth and completely fell in love with it. I think it's the best fit for me, and where I belong. Plus -- and of no small importance -- Philadelphia is a whole lot cheaper than NYC! (Though Penn's tuition is still rather frightening. I guess you get what you pay for? I hope?)

And now, *fingers crossed* it sounds like all of my preparation and anxiety might have been worth it. My interviewer and I spent a very pleasant hour chatting, and most of the difficult potential interview questions I'd prepared for never came up, though I must admit "tell me about racism in the US today" was a bit daunting.

The important thing is, at the end of the interview she said, "you know, I think you'd do great here, and I'm going to recommend you to the selection committee, and they listen to me 99 percent of the time."

She says I should here whether I've been accepted by the 7th of March. Send good acceptance vibes out into the universe for me!

sigh.....................
