Today when looking for a good way to waste some time (a skill I'm continually honing) I came across several great new add-ins for Firefox, including one that lets you play music in the bottom bar of Firefox, look up info on the artists etc, as well as another that lets you just "alt" and click on anything of interest on a web page, e.g. a word you don't know, and it looks it up for you. Cool!
(P.S. for those of you still using Internet Explorer, it's stinky. You should switch.)
What else...ah yes: as you'll see in the shared articles on right-hand side of this blog, I've become completely enamored with the site feministing.com. It's now the first thing I read each morning. Funny, informative, well-written, and no, not man-bashing. So good.
I like this article regarding a woman who never felt the "breeding urge" themselves, yet always dreamed of being a crazy aunt, ala Auntie Mame. (Who, by the way, is one of the most fabulous characters ever, in a book by the same title. I command you to read it.) That's totally what I hope to be for my friends' kids -- taking them on cool excursions, exposing them to new things, teaching them how to stick it to the man, giving them silly gifts, then returning home to my cute home/apartment and my kitties and books and cocktails and boys.
